What to do if you have lots of cats and they fight during feeding

Many people who have lots of cats come to us with problems during feeding. Main problem is that the cats are very aggressive toward one another and they sometimes even end up brawling it out, despite every cat having a bowl of their own, and plenty of food to go around. What many people don’t know is that cats are not social eaters, and that’s why you have problems during feeding.

What to do if you have lots of cats and they fight during feeding

If you have lots of cats and you notice that they don’t exactly play nice at the feeding station, then you really ought to think about spacing out the cats feeding stations. It’s not enough to just have separate bowls. You also need to put some distance between the feeding grounds, like opposite sides of the room.

It’s not natural for cats to eat in a social setting, and if you force them to eat this way with your bowl placements, then you’re going to have problems. Cats will be under stress, their natural instincts will kick in and they will start misbehaving. That is why you need to make sure that the cats are not close together when they eat. Try it if you have problems with cats during feeding and see how it goes.
