If you have lots of cats and you notice that they don’t exactly play nice at the feeding station, then you really ought to think about spacing out the cats feeding stations. It’s not enough to just have separate bowls. You also need to put some distance between the feeding grounds, like opposite sides of the room.

It’s not natural for cats to eat in a social setting, and if you force them to eat this way with your bowl placements, then you’re going to have problems. Cats will be under stress, their natural instincts will kick in and they will start misbehaving. That is why you need to make sure that the cats are not close together when they eat.
